what is the best solar lighting for gardens? And also solar fountain for small pond?

Trying to liven up the garden and remain eco-aware to a degree. Most of the solar things I have tried have been useless so looking for some advice from you guys.

Go with the above answer,also i got beautiful solar string lights suitable for draping over a high bush or tree. I hung mine over my pampas and the result was beautiful at night. So good was it that i purchased another set for this year. I got these from the catalogue Betterware, but just recently i saw them in some of the chain store gardening sections. Well worth the money. (10 pounds sterling).

Solar Garden Water Pumps

Does a solar panel like this one work also in the shade?

I am planning to install this solar pump in a water garden on my patio, which unfortunately is north-faced. Since I am at the top floor of the apartment house, I may try to put it on the roof, but still it would get direct sun only from 4PM.

It will probably not produce enough power to run the pump except in full sun. I say this because the ratings for the pump and solar cell are not that far apart. The cell output rating is max. as in bright sunshine.

garden pond question! please help!!?

my husband and i are building a garden pond in our backyard. we dont want to have an electrician install a GFCI unit so we are leaning towards a solar powered pump. we have found plenty but i'm wondering is can a fountain pump be used to create a waterfall? if you have any experience or know of any great sites to help please include with your answer. thanks in advanced!!

Yes, a fountain pump can be used for a waterfall. You will just have to buy one with moe power. You can go to any garden or hardware store (Home Depot, etc.). Check out their fountains. They usually sell the fountains separate from the pumps. The information on each fountain will tell you what size pump you need to get. This will give you an idea of the size that you need to pump the amount of water and the distance that you want.

Garden Pond Question - Is there a way to solar power my filter?

I see there are solar pumps. Is that what's used to power the filter? I don't have my pond yet and I'm new to this so that's why I'm asking.

I don't know of any need for a powered filter... usually, as far as I know, the pump pushes the water thru the filter... so if it's strong enuff, the water moves thru ..... a bio-filter is the usual way for solar pumps.... here's a site with 'stuff'...

What do i need to do to run my garden electrics (pond Pumps & Garden Lighting) from a solar panel?

I run 2 pond pumps and 4 sets of garden lighting through my electricity supply and would like to change this so it runs from solar power panels on top of my garage roof.
Can anyone give me advice on what size panels I need, how many and how i actually install this.
Please help as I would love to cut down my carbon footprint but want to keep my garden looking pretty.
